Wanted……. people to fill these roles and to keep Liphook Blooming !!!

Here is a list of the roles that we currently see as being needed to be taken over by new people in order to maintain the work currently done by the Liphook in Bloom team.  These positions will become available in 2017 and we are looking to appoint people in 2016 in order that they can run in tandem with the current holders.

If you have any questions or want to put your name forward, please contact Irene Ellis, Chairman, on 01428 723823

Chairman : a head-honcho to run the show and keep things on track.  It would help if, as well as being comfortable in running a team of helpers, this person had good local knowledge and contacts.  An ability to extract grants from various bodies would be very useful.

Vice Chairman : a “number 2” to the Chairman

Watering Organiser : to manage the watering team and plan a rota of when people go out

Watering Team : helpers to do the watering, especially anyone with a tow bar

Planting and Planning Organiser : to design what plants go in which beds, to order the plants, receive them and plan the planting days.  This need not (probably should not) be done by one person.

Mr. Fixit : someone to do any odd-jobs like repairing posts etc.

Secretarial Work : there are 4 areas that need covering :-

  • General secretary : to handle correspondence
  • Social secretary : to plan get-togethers
  • Meeting secretary : to issue agendas and take minutes
  • Publicity : to liaise with the press and magazines etc

Local Competition Team – ( if it is decided to run this) : to plan, organise, publicise, run the competition week and any subsequent presentation event.
